‘Detox’ diet scams and product scams get called out by REAL scientists

Hello all.  I was recently forwarded a very interesting document file by Dr. Stuart Phillips called ‘The Detox Dossier.’  Now many of you that know me, know that I have slammed these ‘detox’ diets and products for a long time.  First off, they are complete BS so let’s just be clear on that.  Your liver and kidney detox all you need.  Secondly, if you ask most of the people promoting these ‘cleanses’ and ‘detoxes’ what ‘toxins’ they are actually referring to, they can’t even name them!  Furthermore, most of these ‘detoxes’ are nothing more than drinking a ton of fluids, fasting, and taking a laxative.  People report feeling so much better afterwards.  That is due to the placebo effect along with having their GI vacated and not eating like gluttons during the fast… of course you feel better.  But don’t take my word for it, check out what happens when REAL scientists tried calling or emailing these companies and asking them about their products & diets.  You will find such gems as a company who thought that ‘endocrine’ was an organ,  someone who said that ‘liver’ was a scientific term (I thought ‘liver’ was pretty common knowledge, apparently not for idiots), and several people who admitted they didn’t know what the products did and didn’t even use them!  So before you buy into these ‘detoxes’ and ‘cleanses’ please read this document, open your eyes, and stop looking for a magic bullet.  Sorry Dr. Oz, but it looks like the REAL scientists win this round.
