Born in Iowa and achieved a BA in Health and Sports Studies/Minor in Exercise Science, a few years later moved in Georgia completed MS in Exercise and Sports Science at Life University. Contemplated between a doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) and working on PhD in Kinesiology; chose to move to Texas work on PhD in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Nutritional Sciences. In doing so, with desire to research, mentor, and give back to society by way of scholarly means. Certified CSCS through the National Strength and Conditioning Association with a competitive bodybuilding background with notable success at the amateur level of varying shows. Research interests include skeletal muscle biology and physiology, cell signaling transduction, proteomics, hypertrophy, atrophy, protein and carbohydrate metabolism, nutritional influences on performance and health.
