We are back with episode 4 of my ‘Why Diets Fail’ series. In this episode we are examining the the third prong of the body’s self defense system… the ‘prevention prong’ which works to ensure that subsequent weight loss post diet is MORE difficult than the previous attempt. This is especially true in people who rapidly regain weight post diet and may actually activated pre adipocyte fat cell differentiation which increases their fat cell number, effectively raising their set point and making all future weight loss more difficult.
